As an academic advisor, you need to maintain best working relationships with faculty, staff, and students. Develop programs and activities designed to support the academic success of students.
Provide counseling to group individuals and referrals to appropriate college resources. Monitor academic progress, providing support as needed. Help students in academic policies and procedures. Maintain accurate records of advisement interactions.
Assist in new orientation, initiative and develop of academic policies and procedures. As academic advisor, you need a bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, or related field is necessary. 2 or more years of experience in student services or academic advising is preferred.
Interpersonal and communication skills with faculty, staff, and students. Handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. Proficient in Microsoft Office is preferred.
