As academic dean, your job will be to develop and implement academic policies and procedures that ensure the success of academic programs. Manage and evaluate faculty and staff, providing direction to faculty in their teaching and research. Oversee the budgeting process ensuring that resources are allocated appropriately.
Serve as a liaison for accreditation bodies and institutions. Monitor student progress and ensure that they are receiving the best possible education. Work with the president and staff to develop and achieve strategic objectives.
As academic dean, a master’s degree in education or their leadership is necessary. At least 5 years of experience in higher education administration or related field is required.
Knowledge of trends and best practices in higher education. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Organizational, problem-
solving skills and able to work independent and multi-tasks.
